1. Expanded Control Architecture • Signal Distribution
The defining capability of the Expanded System is its built-in distribution board. Unlike compact systems that require external step amplifiers or buffer boxes, the Expanded Control Unit MK2 includes:
- 10 Independent Repeater Drive Lines: Each line is individually isolated and fused with a dedicated 1A fuse (F1 through F10). A wiring short on an exposed bridge wing bearing repeater will never pull down the primary gyro bus.
- Multi-Channel NMEA 0183 / IEC 61162-1/2: High-speed serial sentences (
$HEHDT,$THS,$HEROT) supporting update rates up to 50 Hz for radar, ECDIS, and autopilot. - Analog Rate-of-Turn Output: Direct voltage output for analog steering gauges and VDR recording.
- Step by Step Transmission: Compatible with classic 24V DC stepper repeaters.
