YDK Technologies, formerly known as Yokogawa, manufactures various navigation equipment such as gyrocompasses, autopilots, and electromagnetic logs.
Originating in 1852, Yokogawa initially focused on manufacturing weather and water measuring instruments before venturing into navigation equipment in the 1950s. Presently, YDK Technologies offers a wide range of products, including gyrocompasses, autopilots, electromagnetic logs, rudder angle indicators, and course recorders.
Our expertise in delivering dependable measurement-based technology has been cultivated over many years. As Yokogawa Technologies Co. Ltd. embarked on a new journey, we’ve evolved into the organization we are today through mergers and adaptation to changing times.
Yokogawa Navitec Corporation, following Hokus Electro Works, Ltd., specialized in manufacturing navigation equipment. Separately, Yokogawa Aviation Co. Ltd. developed ignition devices for jet engines, contributing to Japan’s endeavor to achieve full domestic aircraft production. Supported by the Ministry of Defense, New Eletrics Co. Ltd. merged with two other companies to establish Yokogawa Defense Co. Ltd. in 1993.
Over time, additional companies like Yongres Weather Corporation and Monoka Tokki Corporation became part of the Yokogawa group. In 2020, to better align with diverse business needs and ensure sustainable growth, Yokogawa Denshi Co. Ltd. changed its name to YDK Technologies Co. Ltd., a name familiar to many for years.
