Navitron NT888G MK2 Adaptive Autopilot
System Overview & Engineering Architecture
The Navitron NT888G MK2 Adaptive Autopilot is a fully Type Approved installation programmable Adaptive Autopilot designed and developed by Navitron Systems Limited for professional use on Magnetic and/or Gyro based commercial vessels of all types – including High Speed Craft. The NT888G MK2 is a speed adaptive Autopilot which constantly monitors and self-tunes to provide optimum steering performance.
The system is built around a robust control architecture that integrates magnetic and gyroscopic heading inputs with adaptive algorithms to deliver precise steering. The NT888G MK2 Autopilot offers traditional Navitron reliability reinforced by Adaptive control technology, making it suitable for a wide range of vessel types from conventional cargo vessels to high speed passenger ferries underway at 50 knots.
Core Features & Operational Advantages
Adaptive Self-Tuning Control
The NT888G MK2 Adaptive Autopilot features an adaptive self-tuning algorithm that constantly evaluates and updates internal Autopilot Control Parameters. This adaptive mode is designed to provide optimum steering performance across the widest range of vessel types and operating conditions. The system is made possible by an adaptive self-tuning algorithm which is aided by external speed and draft inputs.
Multi-Waypoint Steering
The NT888G MK2 accepts track data for single leg or multi waypoint steering performance. When derived from an Approved ECDIS/Plotter configuration, the system will promote NT888G MK2 controlled constant radius turns and/or complex route manoeuvres as instructed. This capability makes the autopilot ideal for vessels requiring precise route planning and complex manoeuvres.
