Gyrocompass (Heading Sensor)

Gyrocompasses are essential for determining a ship’s heading by detecting the direction of true north. They use a fast-spinning rotor influenced by gravity and the Earth’s rotation. The heading indicated by the gyrocompass is transmitted to receiving devices, including repeater compasses. YDK Technologies offers the CMZ900 series, which includes:

• CMZ900B (B2): A standalone gyrocompass for small merchant vessels.
• CMZ900S: Suitable for general merchant vessels, using a single gyrocompass.
• CMZ900D: Ideal for general merchant vessels, using dual gyrocompasses.

Autopilot (Automatic Steering Control)

Autopilots automatically keep the ship’s heading by controlling the steering gear. They feature a follow-up mechanism as a pilot system and control the steering gear in various ways depending on the actuator type.
